Three brilliant marketing blogs (that aren't this one)
My recommendations for anyone who wants to read more about marketing from people who really know their stuff.
There's a seemingly endless parade of marketing gurus touting their wares online. Most are average, some are dire and a small number are utterly fantastic. Here are three of my favourites.
1. Seth Godin
The daddy of online marketing. Seth founded one of the first digital marketing agencies and now writes and talks on how to share ideas (amongst other things).
If you'd prefer to listen check out his TED talks. How to get your ideas to spread is 20 years old but only the outfit has aged badly - the content is still fantastic.
2. Nick Kolenda
One for the psychology fans. Nick trawls through seemingly hundreds of academic journals looking for behavioral research that can be applied to marketing.
If you're short on time just have a spin through the titles and summaries - it's a goldmine and I guarantee you'll bookmark at least a few to come back to.
3. Nate Kaldac
Design resources for non-designers because, as Nate puts it, "people do judge a book by it's cover".
Read the Approachable design blog, by Nate Kaldac
Brilliantly written he's a font of wisdom for those of us who know design is important but simply haven't got a clue about it.
As a shameless self-promoter I feel duty bound to mention that this blog makes a pretty useful and enjoyable read too.
